Futari ya Ndizi / Green Bananas Futari

There are three regions in Tanzania that I can say cooked green bananas is their staple food. That is Bukoba, Moshi and Kigoma. Futari thought is more prepared during Ramadhan all over Tanzania. There are quite a few recipes of Futari this is one of them. Please you must use unripe green bananas for this recipe. Do not use plantain.
Ingredients
- 675g Green bananas (not plantain)
- 3/4 cup heavy coconut milk
- 1/2 cup light (diluted) coconut milk
- 1 tsp Cardamon
- 2 tbsp Onions
- 1/2 tsp Ghee
- Salt
- Peal the bananas and cut into any size or just as in the photo.
- Heat ghee in a non stick pan. Sauté onions until cooked. Add both light and heavy coconut milk and Cardamon. Stir until it starts to boil
- Add Bananas to boiling coconut. Lower the heat to low, cover the pot and simmer until cooked. Check and stir after every few minutes to avoid sticking on the pot.
- Serve hot.
